One message on every paired screen
In a fire drill or a lockdown, the normal loop has to stop. Operations and Phone have the buttons. The playlist returns when you clear the alert or the time runs out.
Use cases
People need to leave
Press Leave the building. The same button is on Phone if you are on the floor.
People need to stay
Press Stay where you are. Press Clear alert when the playlist should return.
A CAP message should show
Operations shows the CAP address for this account. A CAP 1.2 alert posted there can set the on-screen message. Keep that address private.
On this desk
- Leave the building and Stay where you are.
- Your own words, with a duration, via Show on every screen.
- Players check about every 5 seconds.
- An alert still shows when Wake and Sleep would otherwise leave the screen dark.
- CAP 1.2 on the Operations address.
Not on this desk
- A fire panel, SCADA, PLC, panic button, and MQTT connection are not alert inputs.
- The alert is not fanned out to desktops, Teams, WhatsApp, or SMS.
- There is no audible siren on the player and no stored delivery-time report.
Questions
How fast does the alert appear?
Players check about every 5 seconds. A screen can take that long to change.
Can a fire alarm panel trigger it?
No. A person presses the button, or a CAP alert is posted to the Operations address.
