Platform
The browser is the player
Open the pair page, read the code, and claim it on Screens or Phone. Leave that browser running. A commercial display can open the same address when it powers on.
Use cases
The set has a browser and nothing else
That is enough. The code expires after 30 minutes. Refresh the pair page if it expires.
The screen looks offline
Online means a check-in during the last 45 seconds. If the browser was closed, reopen the player. Use Reload selected after you tick the screen.
The shop is closed
Set Wake and Sleep on the screen, then press Save screen. Leave both empty to stay on. An alert still shows in the dark hours.
On this desk
- Chrome, Windows, Android, Fire TV, Samsung Tizen, and LG webOS.
- A pairing code, a name, and a usual playlist.
- Online status from the last check-in.
- Reload on the screens you tick.
- Wake and Sleep hours.
Not on this desk
- There is no player in an app store, and no BrightSign, Raspberry Pi, Linux, macOS, or iOS app.
- Enrolment through Intune, Android Enterprise, or Samsung Knox is not on this desk.
- Screens do not pass files to each other on the local network.
- An air-gapped edition can be switched on so the desk does not call out. That switch is not a HIPAA certification.
Questions
What if the internet drops?
The desk marks the screen offline when it stops checking in. Reopen the player browser on the television. A live feed is not required for slides you typed.
Does the player install itself?
No. Someone opens the pair page in the browser on that screen.
